ProgressivTube® Benefits

A Solar Water Heater (SWH) is a long-term investment that will save you money and energy for many years. SWHs minimize the environmental effects of enjoying a comfortable, modern lifestyle. In addition, they provide insurance against energy price increases, help reduce our dependence on foreign oil, and are investments in everyone's future.

Works In Every Climate

Today's Solar Water Heating (SWH) technologies can be operated efficiently and affordably in any climate. Systems are specifically designed for various climatic and geographical areas of the country.

Independent Energy Source - No Fuel Cost Increase

Because the systems are self-sufficient, you can still enjoy hot water even during electric outage.  Electric and gas prices will continue to go up but solar energy is free; you can rest assure there will be no fuel cost increase.

Low Investment/High Return - Reduced Energy Costs

Savings pay for the system in three to five years. By installing a solar water heater, a typical household can meet 50 to 80% of their hot water needs.  In southern climates a unit can meet nearly 100% of a household's hot water needs. There is low to no maintenance cost and no operating cost.

Rebates and Incentives

On August 8 2005 a new national policy for solar power, the Energy Policy Act of 2005, was implement. Homeowners who install solar energy systems will receive a tax credit worth 30% of the system cost, capped at $2,000.  Additionally, businesses that purchase solar equipment will also receive a credit worth 30% of the overall system cost.  These tax credits are authorized through 2008. Additional State Incentives are also available.

Improved Environment

Reduced demand for fossil fuels will improve the environment by reducing air and water pollution as well as the heat-trapping gases that cause global warming. And though they cost a little bit more up front to install, a SWH system will save consumers money in the long run as the fuel source (the sun's energy) will always be free.

When a solar water heater replaces an electric heater, the electricity displayed over 20 years represents more than 50 tons of avoided carbon dioxide emissions alone. Carbon dioxide traps heat in the upper atmosphere, thus contributing to the "greenhouse effect".

Proven Efficient Technology

Currently there are more than 300,000 Solar Water Heating units installed across the United States (excluding swimming pool applications) and because these systems have been proven efficient and reliable, the number of installations continues to grow by the thousands every year.

25 Year+ Design Life - Resists Hurricanes

Over the past two decades, thousands of home owners and businesses have enjoyed the benefits of the solar water heater. The ProgressivTube has earned a reputation of high performance with durable design while assuring trouble free maintenance and maximum savings. Systems are rated to resist hurricane force of 120 mph wind load - actual installations were undamaged by hurricane Hugo's sustained 180 mph winds and gusts in excess of 230 mph

Easy Operation and Maintenance

Requires no mechanical or electronic components to operate. The ProgressivTube has no moving parts and operates in local water pressure and solar radiation. There are no pumps or controls to maintain and no electrical energy is required to make it function. Once installed the system will operate automatically.
